Deerskin is my preferred backing material, and I think after you have tried it once, it will become yours, too! Buttery soft and pliable, yet super strong and durable, it is the perfect finish to your creations. It is easy to use...just glue it to the back of your beadwork, (beaded on Lacys Stiff Stuff of course! :) trim it close to the beadwork, then do your preferred method of edge beading. Done! You can have either the suede side or the skin side facing out; it's your choice. Choose between fourteen different gorgeous colors! You will recieve one square foot. (May not always be 12 x 12 square but will always be at least 1 square foot.)This is craft grade deer and may have holes, rough edges, drag marks and other flaws. This is the nature of deerskin and all other natural hides. Animals in the wild sustain injury and get bumps, bruises and scratches just like we do; I don't know about you, but my hide certainly is not perfect....and I don't expect a deers hide to be either. ;)
We will do our best to make sure that the flaws are kept to a minimum. This size is large enough for several large cuff bracelets, collars etc. Or you can cut it up for a multitude of other smaller sized projects. (pendants, earrings, etc)

Tobacco: (formerly Dark Brown, a yummy and rich, very Dark Brown)
Gold: (Still called Gold, the traditional shade of Deerskin, Warm Golden Yellow. NOT a metallic)
Cream: ( a smooth and creamy shade, alot like Vanilla Ice Cream)
Smoke:( mimics brain tanned leather)
Turq: (Blue-Green)
Purple: (Still Purple, a perfect Grape.)
Forest Green: (Still Forest Green, a rich deep Green.)
